Staircase remodeling in Kansas City
Not sure who to call about your stairs? Call us. Staircase work is finish carpentry, and it's what Brock Chapman is known for: new treads and risers, iron balusters or horizontal rail, newel posts and handrails.

What we change
Every part of the stair, built to match
A staircase is the first thing people see when they walk in. We rebuild worn or dated stairs into the centerpiece of the house, whether that means new treads over the old ones or a whole new railing.
- Treads & risersNew hardwood treads and painted risers
- BalustersWood spindles swapped for iron balusters or horizontal rail
- Newels & railsBoxed newel posts and handrails built to match
- Skirt & trimStringers, skirt boards and trim cut to the stair

Traditional
Oak and iron
Hardwood treads, black iron balusters and a stained oak handrail on boxed newel posts. A painted skirt board ties the stair into the wall and the trim around it.

Modern
Horizontal rail
Square oak posts with horizontal metal rails, for open stairs and lofts where you want the railing to stay out of the way of the view.
